District News
Learning Community Superintendent's Report
The Learning Community's 11 superintendents released a report on August 29, 2014 with recommendations for changes to the Learning Community. áThe most significant is the proposed elimination of the common levy. áOur district loses $2,159,220 this school year alone because of the common levy, which represents over 16% of our potential revenue. áClick here for the full report. áThe Board of Education will comment on the report and vote to support or oppose the recommendations in each section on Monday, November 10 at 7 PM at the district office. áTheástep after the Board meeting isáto submit the results of our Board's votes on the recommendations and attach comments to the report. áThen the report goes to the state legislature's Education Committee for consideration.

Students in the Community...
Raelyn Haubensak was selected as the PlatteviewáHigh School representative to the 2nd Congressional District Student Council. áRaelyn attended the second session of the Congressional Student Council with Lee Terry on October 20th at Papillion South High School. She was one of eight kids from the 2nd congressional district that attended. Our discussion topics ranged from school lunches to the problems with social security.Raelyn said "I enjoyed hearing Mr. Terry's thoughts on each issue. It was also interesting to listen to the issues that the other students experienced in their schools." áShe plans on going to the next session at Millard South onáNovember 17.
All-State Music
Congratulations to our All-State Music Selections!

All-State Music is November 20-21 in Lincoln at the Embassy Suites Convention Center. áStudents are selected in an extensive process of learning multiple pieces of music and performing for judges from students across the State of Nebraska. áStudents selected to the Choir were Stacie Bartels, Sarah Grubb, Ben Keyes, Jessica Lindblom, Abbey Patera, Noah Schlange, Scott Strigenz,áMcKenzieáVincent and Sam Keyes as an alternate. áConnor McFayden was named to the Band and Victoria Hartley was named to the Orchestra.á

Darin Cheney
Mr. Cheney is a graduate of Norris High School and a ágraduate of Doane College!á Mr. Cheney has joined our special education department and will work with our 9th and 10th grade students.
Shannon Clayton
Mrs.Clayton is a graduate of Lincoln Christian High School and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.á Mrs. Clayton has joined our Language Arts department and is teaching English 9 and Speech.
